Mike Andrews announces retirement

Mike Andrews, Chief Executive of NCHA has announced his decision to retire from his position later this year.

In a statement released earlier, Mike states: “This month I will have worked for NCHA for 30 years. This month also marks the 11th anniversary of being told I had been successful in my application to become only the second Chief Executive of NCHA. In anyone’s terms this is a long relationship and one that I am extremely proud of. The work NCHA has done and continues to do is so important and makes a huge contribution to improving the lives of so many people in the East Midlands. I have however, after much soul searching, decided that the time has come to step aside and let someone else take this fantastic organisation forward. I have therefore informed the Chair and Board of my decision to retire in September of this year.

“I am extremely proud that NCHA has remained true to its original purpose set way back in 1973, and in my opinion is unique in the housing association world. I know that I inherited a great organisation 11 years ago, and I would like to think that I will hand on an even stronger and respected organisation to my successor.”

NCHA’s Chair of Board of Management Claire Winfield said: “Mike has worked for NCHA for over 30 years, contributing to the development of the organisation and to the wider social housing sector in that time. He has led NCHA for the last 11 years, and with dedication, passion and commitment has steered us through challenging times within the sector.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his hard work and wish him well for his retirement.”
