"We aim to reduce the risk of homelessness by supporting service users
to gain the skills to live as independently as possible"
NCHA has Floating Support teams across the East Midlands area, supporting people who have a range of needs.
We are funded by Supporting People; part of the local authorities.
Video - How we Meet Your Needs
The areas we can support people in include: -
- Setting up and maintaining a tenancy
- Developing domestic or life skills
- Advice and advocacy
- Accessing cultural and religious organisations
- Form filling
- Budgeting and benefits
- Advice on repairs and home maintenance
- Accessing education and employment
- Finding out about local community organisations
- Accessing healthcare
Anyone who is at risk of homelessness or has a housing-related need can apply for floating support from NCHA. Some of the people we support are vulnerable because they have a learning disability, mental health needs, are seeking asylum, are experiencing domestic violence or for other reasons.
We welcome applications from people from any background.
All support workers complete NCHA’s comprehensive training and are experienced in tenancy support. Each service user will be allocated a support worker who will agree a regular schedule to visit individuals, usually at their own home. Service users will work with their support workers to identify the support they need and to write a person centred support plan to set out how they can achieve their goals.
