NCHA has Tennancy Support teams across the East Midlands area, supporting people who have a range of needs. Housing With Care and Support are funded by the Supporting Teams; part of your local authority, to support these service users in their own homes.

Anyone who is at risk of homelessness or has a housing-related need can apply for our Floating Support services and we welcome applications from people from any background.

The areas we can provide support in can include:

• Setting up and maintaining a tennancy
• Developing domestic or life skills
• Advice and advocacy
• Accessing cultural and religious organisations
• Form filling
  

• Budgeting and benefits
• Advice on repairs and home maintenance
• Accessing education and employment
• Finding out about local community organisations
• Accessing healthcare

Some of the people we support are vulnerable because they have a learning disability, mental health needs, are seeking asylum, are experiencing domestic violence or for other reasons.

The support provided is normally short-term (up to two years) and we try to keep waiting lists short to enable more people to benefit from our service.

All support workers complete NCHA’s comprehensive training and are experienced in tenancy support. Each service user will be allocated a support worker who will agree a regular schedule to visit individuals, usually at their own home. Service users will work with their support workers to identify the support they need and to write a person centred support plan to set out how they can achieve their goals.
