Nottingham Community Housing Association hosts international Assistive Technology conference
Breaking the barriers between Stakeholders
At the end of September, NCHA hosted a conference in Nottingham in association with EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities). The event was hosted as part of the ImPaCT in Europe project which has been awarded nearly €0.5 million by the European Commission’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency over three years, to raise the awareness of Person Centred Technology (PCT).
The conference programme brought together key people from across Europe to demonstrate how assistive technology can significantly support independence for people with disabilities in a person centred way.
The conference was supported by exhibitions from Tunstall, SMaRT, Halliday James and SupraUK.
Approximately 100 people attended from across the UK and from 13 countries in the rest of Europe, and had the opportunity to learn about experiences in other countries through a range of presentations and workshop discussions.
Attendees were also treated to a Civic Reception hosted by Nottingham City Council at the Council House in Nottingham. Many thanks to the Lord Mayor, Councillor Jeannie Packer, and Nottingham City Council for welcoming our guests, and also to the Sheriff of Nottingham, Councillor Unczur for opening the conference.
