Build for Better Lives
South Africa 2011
Build for Better Lives (BfBL) is a group which has been set up by the Housing with Care and Support Department. The aim is to send nine service users from our Young Person’s Services to South Africa in early June 2011. They will work with Habitat for Humanity in the Kwazulu Natal region of South Africa, building homes for some of the world’s poorest people.
Nottingham Community Housing Association has been working with Habitat for Humanity for several years, historically sending technical staff to work with the charity, helping to install things like plumbing and heating to the houses built by the charity’s volunteers. We have decided to expand upon this next year by sending service users along to help build the houses.
This experience will change the lives of the nine young people that are selected to go, as well as contributing to the life changing work of Habitat for Humanity.
