NCHA adopt care provision of Sherwood House

The management of residential care at Sherwood House, Linby, Nottingham has been transferred to NCHA.

The elegant, period property has offered care for up to 19 residents, since 2000. Owned by the Gray Trust, Sherwood House was bequeathed to care for older people upon the death of the previous owner Miss Gray.

Formerly managed by Friends of the Elderly (FOTE), the management of care at Sherwood House was transferred 1st April. As the new selected provider, we will continue to provide person centred residential care for older people at the home.

Working across the East Midlands, since 1973, we house more than 20,000 tenants in affordable accommodation across 15 local authority areas and provide over 750,000 hours of care per year for the most vulnerable in society. We provide care to those living with mental health, learning disabilities, domestic violence and homelessness, as well as older persons.

Based in Nottingham, only seven miles from Sherwood House, we are able to offer the same values of quality and personalised care as FOTE, with the benefit of local experience and a good reputation for care service within the area.

Throughout the transfer period we worked in close partnership with FOTE to ensure that impact to residents and their families was kept to a minimum and a continuance of care.

Steve Allen, Group Chief Executive of Friends of the Elderly comments: “NCHA has a fantastic reputation in the local community and shares our values to deliver quality care, personalised to the needs of each individual.

“We are proud of the care and support our staff team has provided the residents at the home. We have enjoyed the support of the local community and trust they will want to continue to be part of the home’s future for years to come.”

Holly Dagnall, Director of Homes and Wellbeing at NCHA comments: “We are delighted to be taking on the management of care at Sherwood House. It is a beautiful building and the residents clearly view it as a home-from-home. We will work closely with our staff, the residents and their families to ensure we uphold the existing quality of care.”

Sherwood House was last inspected in July 2017 and rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission.
